Pato O'Ward rises to second in Power Rankings
Pato O’Ward has moved up to No. 2 in the Power Rankings after a strong performance at The Thermal Club INDYCAR Grand Prix. He finished second in the race, continuing to show his skill this season. Alex Palou remains undefeated this season, winning the first two races. He is the first driver to do so since his teammate Scott Dixon in 2020. Palou has led only 39 of 165 laps but his consistent performance keeps him at the top of the rankings. In the latest Power Rankings, several drivers have made notable gains. Alexander Rossi made a good start with Ed Carpenter Racing, achieving two top-10 finishes. Will Power recovered from a tough start in the season to finish sixth at The Thermal Club. Scott McLaughlin faced difficulties, finishing 27th at The Thermal Club after a promising start to the season. Kyle Kirkwood had strong outings, showcasing his skills by finishing fifth at St. Petersburg and eighth at The Thermal Club. Scott Dixon, a former champion, started the season with a solid second-place finish but struggled at The Thermal Club, finishing tenth. Colton Herta improved his position, moving up to fifth in the rankings after a strong showing. Christian Lundgaard jumped to third place after impressive performances, including leading laps and finishing third at The Thermal Club. O’Ward’s strong finish at both races has raised his profile significantly. Palou continues to hold the number one position, dominating the rankings for over a year. He has won back-to-back championships and shows no signs of slowing down this season. The next race is the 50th anniversary of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 13.
