Paris summit on artificial intelligence opens with Modi and Macron co-chairing discussions

Political and tech leaders are gathering in Paris for a two-day summit on artificial intelligence, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The summit aims to discuss global AI governance and promote ethical technology. Macron announced a planned investment of 109 billion euros ($113 billion) in AI, funded by various international sources. This investment is seen as a response to the U.S. "Stargate" project, which aims to enhance AI infrastructure. A new partnership called "Current AI" will invest $400 million to support public interest approaches in AI development. The summit will also feature discussions on sustainable AI practices among leaders from around 100 countries.
