Parents face trial for alleged abuse of 2-year-old girl who died after being fed spicy sauce and alcohol

A court hearing revealed that a 2-year-old girl, who died last year, was force-fed spicy "buldak" sauce and soju by her parents. They face charges of child abuse resulting in death and negligence at the Daejeon District Court. Prosecutors allege the parents stopped using a feeding tube for the child, who was born prematurely, and instead force-fed her baby food. The child suffered from severe malnutrition and had multiple bruises and a skull fracture. Emergency services were called after the child was found unresponsive. The parents delayed reporting her death, fearing exposure of their abusive actions. The couple has three other children, who are now in the care of their grandparents.
