Palace urges Duterte supporters to focus on ICC case

Officials emphasized that the ICC case is not a government fabrication but stems from actions during Duterte's presidency. Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro stated that calls for protests could be seen as attempts to undermine the government. She noted that there is a warrant for Duterte's arrest and that victims are prepared to testify. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. confirmed that Duterte is traveling to The Hague to face charges related to his controversial drug war, which has resulted in thousands of deaths. Official figures report at least 6,000 fatalities, while human rights groups estimate the toll could be much higher.
