Packers may prioritize wide receiver over cornerback in draft
The Green Bay Packers had a strong season last year, winning 11 games. However, they still finished far behind in their tough NFC North division. As they look to improve, the Packers have clear needs, especially at the cornerback position. In the offseason, the Packers signed cornerback Nate Hobbs but still face uncertainty about Jaire Alexander's future with the team. Fans are eager for the team to draft Jahdae Barron, a standout cornerback from Texas, with their 23rd overall pick in the NFL Draft. However, ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. predicts that the Packers might choose Emeka Egbuka, a wide receiver from Ohio State, instead. This decision makes sense since the Packers need another receiver. Adding to the tension, Kiper forecasts that the Minnesota Vikings, who pick right after Green Bay, could select Barron. The Vikings have already strengthened their team through free agency and may want to further bolster their cornerback lineup. If the Packers let Alexander go, they might be able to draft Barron to secure him from the Vikings. But there is also a chance that the Vikings could trade up to grab Barron. Packers fans will have to stay alert as the draft approaches.
