The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Thursday that registered Filipino voters living abroad can now sign up for online voting. This registration period will run from March 20 to May 7, ahead of the elections scheduled for May 12. Voters can enroll through official government websites. These include the Comelec and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). Links for registration are also available on the social media pages of these agencies, as well as at Philippine embassies and consulates. To complete the registration, voters need to upload a photo of their identification. Acceptable IDs include national IDs, government-issued IDs, current or expired Philippine passports, driver’s licenses, or seaman’s books. In addition to online registration, voters can also register in person at Philippine overseas posts or participate in mobile enrollment activities that will be organized.
