Ottawa's OC Transpo overhauls bus routes for reliability
OC Transpo launched a major bus route overhaul Sunday, aiming to improve service reliability and connect more riders to the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. The "New Ways to Bus" plan features redesigned routes, new stops, and quicker connections, with 27 frequent routes running every 15 minutes. The changes, which include route renumbering, are intended to reduce downtown congestion and achieve a 99.5% service reliability target. While some riders welcome the changes, others express concerns about longer commutes and increased transfers, particularly in areas without direct LRT access. OC Transpo is monitoring the rollout and gathering rider feedback for potential adjustments.
