Otsu Station area redevelopment plan announced

Otsu Town announced a redevelopment plan for JR Higo-Otsu Station, including commercial facilities and an office building. The plan features a multi-story commercial complex with eateries south of the station and a skywalk connecting north and south entrances. JR Kyushu will also build a seven-story office building north of the station. These developments are influenced by TSMC's expansion in Kikuyo Town and the decision to use the Higo-Otsu route for airport access. The office building is slated for completion in January 2027.
