Ontario doulas form support network after fraud case against Kaitlyn Braun

cbc.ca

After Kaitlyn Braun was sentenced to house arrest for defrauding doulas, many of her victims have formed a support network across Ontario. This group, called the Collaborative Doula Collective, includes 51 doulas who aim to foster community and collaboration. Braun, who pleaded guilty to multiple charges, had previously faked pregnancies to receive services from doulas. Her actions prompted doulas to seek a stronger support system, as many work independently and face challenges without a network. The Collaborative Doula Collective plans to hold its first conference in London, Ontario, in May. The event will provide an opportunity for doulas to connect, share experiences, and improve their practices.
