Ontario braces for significant lake-effect snow squalls with up to 40 cm expected
Ontario is facing another significant lake-effect snow event, with forecasts predicting 20-40 cm of snow by Friday. This follows a clash between a low-pressure system and cold Arctic air. The weather will include rain, ice, and fog early in the week, transitioning to snow squalls. While localized totals may be lower than earlier this month, widespread snow and dangerous conditions are expected. Travel disruptions are likely, especially in areas east and southeast of Lake Superior, Huron, and Georgian Bay. Snow squalls will begin Wednesday night, affecting regions from Goderich to Tobermory and Barrie.
