Older Chromecast devices face casting errors; fix coming soon
Older Chromecast and Chromecast Audio devices are experiencing "Untrusted device" errors, preventing users from casting content. This issue does not affect third-generation or Chromecast Ultra devices. Users have attempted various fixes, including restarting and reinstalling apps, but none have worked. Google has acknowledged the problem and is working on a solution. A Google representative advised against factory resetting devices, despite previous support page recommendations. The issue may be linked to an expired certificate on Google's server. Users are advised to wait for further instructions from Google.
