NZTrio announces departure of founding cellist Ashley Brown after 23 years
Ashley Brown, founding cellist of NZTrio, will leave the ensemble in April 2025 after 23 years. He plans to pursue new opportunities and spend more time with family while continuing as Principal Cellist for Auckland Philharmonia. Brown will perform in six remaining concerts in 2024 and participate in various events in early 2025. A farewell tribute is being planned to honor his contributions to the trio and chamber music in New Zealand. NZTrio will announce guest artists for the 2025 season and is seeking applicants for the permanent cellist position. Interested candidates can contact the NZTrio manager for more information.
