NYT launches daily word puzzle Strands focusing on annoyance
Strands is a new daily word puzzle from the New York Times. It offers a challenging twist on the classic word search game. Similar to Wordle or the Mini Crossword, some days can be quite hard. In Strands, players aim to find "theme words" hidden in a grid of letters. You can drag or tap letters to form words. When you correctly identify a theme word, the letters turn blue. If you guess a non-theme word that is at least four letters long, it helps you earn hints. For every three of these words, one letter from a theme word will be revealed. Each puzzle contains a special word called a "spangram." This word usually connects two opposite sides of the grid. Finding it will highlight the word in yellow. The goal is to solve the puzzle quickly and avoid using hints when possible. Today's theme is "Grrr." If you are looking for a hint, it could be "annoyed." The spangram for today is "CROSSWORD," and other answers include words like "CRANKY," "SURLY," "PEEVED," "VEXED," "IRKED," "GRUMPY," and "TOUCHY."
