Nurse struck off for drugging patients to ease work shifts in Blackpool
Catherine Hudson, a nurse, has been struck off after being convicted of drugging patients at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. She illegally sedated two patients, including a stroke victim, to make her shifts easier. Hudson was sentenced to over seven years in prison last year. The Nursing and Midwifery Council found her actions to be a serious violation of nursing standards, with no signs of remorse. An interim suspension has been placed on Hudson for 18 months while she may appeal the decision. Her colleague, Charlotte Wilmot, was also convicted and sentenced to three years for her involvement.
