NU Lady Bulldogs edge UST in thrilling Game 1 of UAAP Finals

National University (NU) defeated the University of Santo Tomas (UST) 72-71 in Game 1 of the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball Finals. NU overcame a 14-point deficit, with Cielo Pagdulagan scoring the winning layup in the final minute. NU struggled with turnovers, committing 31 in total, but rallied in the second half. The team trailed 51-37 before launching an 11-0 run. UST briefly led late in the game, but Pagdulagan's layup secured the victory for NU. The win puts NU one step closer to the championship, with Game 2 scheduled for Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena. UST's Kent Pastrana led all scorers with 22 points.
