Norwich car dealership to be demolished for public parking area after safety concerns
A car dealership in Norwich will be demolished after being labeled "unsafe." The site, located at 46-70 Mountergate, will be replaced with a public parking area. Demolition is set to begin in early 2025 and will take 17 to 20 days. The dealership, previously an STR Service Centre, has fallen into disrepair and attracted graffiti since its closure. The area will temporarily serve as parking for 12 months while future development plans are considered. Norwich City Council has approved a separate plan to revamp the nearby RCP Car Park, which includes extending the car wash facility and changing parking fees.
