Two hikers were rescued after separate accidents in the Northern Alps on August 4th. A 54-year-old woman sustained a fractured leg after slipping while ascending Mt. Yari. Separately, a 76-year-old man suffered a head injury from a fall on Mt. Hakuba Norikura. Both individuals were part of two-person hiking groups and were rescued by Nagano Prefecture's fire and disaster prevention helicopter.
