Nokia to establish mobile network on the Moon
NASA will launch the Athena lander on February 26, marking the first mobile network on the Moon. This network, developed by Nokia, will use Earth-based cellular technology for communication and data transfer. The Lunar Surface Communication System will support high-definition video streaming and telemetry between the lander and lunar vehicles. It is designed to endure extreme lunar conditions. The mission includes two mobility vehicles that will connect to the network. Additionally, NASA will conduct the Polar Resources Ice Mining Experiment 1 to analyze lunar regolith for volatiles.
