Thirteen villages in Gautam Budh Nagar and 24 in Ghaziabad are set to be declared TB-free on March 29. In Gautam Budh Nagar, the villages include Banjarpur, Rajpur Kala, Shahpur Khurd, and several others. This region falls within the Dadri and Jewar blocks. Last year, four gram panchayats in Noida were also recognized as TB-free. During the verification process, the health department and panchayati raj conducted thorough physical inspections. Among the 13 villages, Chachura and Dalelpur received silver awards for maintaining their TB-free status for a second year. The other villages will be awarded bronze. In Ghaziabad, 24 villages will be recognized, with four repeat winners earning silver status. Last year, 10 villages were named TB-free, and four of those have kept their status this year. These villages will also be honored under the silver zone category.
