No Name Pops orchestra rebrands as Philly Pops with support from Peter Nero's family

The No Name Pops orchestra in Philadelphia has officially changed its name to Philly Pops. This new name comes from the family of the late conductor Peter Nero, who led the original Philly Pops for many years. The No Name Pops formed last year after musicians left the financially troubled Philly Pops. The Nero family has also gifted the orchestra Peter Nero's music library and named him Music Director Emeritus posthumously. The orchestra plans to perform under the Philly Pops name starting next year. Their next concert is scheduled for November 16 at the Kimmel Center, followed by a holiday concert on December 14.
