NHS England will offer three-minute cancer injection
The NHS will begin offering a "super-jab" that treats 15 cancers, replacing lengthy immunotherapy drips with a three-minute injection. This will be the first such offering in Europe. The injectable immunotherapy, nivolumab, will be available next month to patients with cancers including skin, bladder, and esophageal cancers. Approximately 1,200 people in England will benefit monthly, saving over a year of treatment time annually. The new jab, which comes at no extra cost, is expected to free up significant clinician time and improve patient convenience. The MHRA has approved the treatment, and the government is committed to providing the latest cancer therapies.
