New York State residents to receive average checks of $1,407 under STAR program

New York State residents will soon receive an average check of $1,407 as part of the STAR program. This is an increase from last year's average of $778 for Basic STAR and $1,407 for Enhanced STAR. To qualify for the Enhanced STAR check, homeowners must be 65 or older by the end of 2024 and have an income below $98,700. The income limit will rise to $107,300 in 2025. Eligible residents must register for the program to receive the check. Checks will be processed starting in summer 2024, with most issued by September 11.
