New National Museum in Delhi to showcase artefacts in chronological and thematic order
The new National Museum in North and South Blocks of Delhi will display artefacts in chronological and thematic order. North Block will feature a chronological arrangement, while South Block will focus on theme-based sections. The museum, named 'Yug Yugeen Bharat,' aims to house 25,000-30,000 artefacts, making it the largest museum globally. Currently, the National Museum has 206,000 artefacts, with 7,000-8,000 on display. Offices in both blocks are relocating to the Common Central Secretariat as part of the Central Vista plan. The museum's development follows a partnership with France, known for its expertise in transforming government buildings into cultural spaces.
