New nanosensing technique improves viral vector quality control

phys.org

Researchers from Japan have developed a novel nanosensing technique to improve quality control of adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors used in gene therapy. This method can differentiate between functional and defective viral vectors at the single-particle level by measuring ionic current changes as particles pass through a nanopore. The findings, published in ACS Nano, aim to enhance the safety and efficacy of gene therapies.
