New cafe opens in downtown Hartford, emphasizes healthy food
A new restaurant called Chef Renee @280 has opened in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. The cafe is run by Chef Renee Williams and her husband, Kenneth. They aim to serve fresh and healthy meals as more people return to their offices in the area. Chef Renee has a special connection to the building at 280 Trumbull St., as she met her husband there 36 years ago. Now, they hope to create a welcoming space for both office workers and the community. The mayor praised the new cafe for highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit that supports small businesses in the city. The restaurant is located on the fifth floor and offers stunning views of Hartford and even Massachusetts on clear days. Chef Renee, a classically trained French chef, is excited to bring scratch-cooked meals to the city. The menu features a wide range of breakfast and lunch options, including baked goods, eggs, sandwiches, and salads. The couple plans to host private events and offer made-to-order food. They have already served steak and salmon at an event. Chef Kenneth is also known for his delicious desserts, such as blueberry and apple pies. The decor is designed to be inviting, with a comfortable area for customers to work while enjoying their meals. Chef Renee wants the atmosphere to be cozy, but not so comfortable that it distracts people from their work. The restaurant is open for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. They look forward to becoming a favorite spot for the local community.
