NED University students unveil driverless electric vehicle in Pakistan
Postgraduate students at NED University have developed a driverless electric vehicle, marking a significant advancement in Pakistan's automotive industry. This vehicle can navigate independently to assigned locations. The students addressed challenges posed by Pakistan's road conditions, ensuring the vehicle can detect potholes and uneven surfaces. Their faculty noted the technology's potential for various transport applications, including heavy vehicles and intercity travel. Previously, in 2021, NED University students created Pakistan's second Formula Electric Sports car. That vehicle, costing around Rs3.5 million, can reach speeds of 120 km/h and faced challenges with battery and motor performance.
