Nebraska promotes John Butler to defensive coordinator following staff changes

Nebraska will promote John Butler from secondary coach to defensive coordinator, following Tony White's departure to Florida State. Butler previously served as interim defensive coordinator for the Pinstripe Bowl against Boston College. Butler has experience as a defensive coordinator at Penn State and worked with the Houston Texans. Coach Matt Rhule indicated Butler was a candidate for the permanent role, aiming to maintain the current defensive structure. Additionally, Nebraska plans to hire Terry Bradden as defensive line coach and Phil Snow as associate head coach. Bradden has been with the Kansas City Chiefs, while Snow previously worked with Rhule at multiple programs.
