NASA's Blue Ghost successfully lands on the Moon
NASA's Blue Ghost spacecraft has successfully landed on the Moon, becoming the second commercial vehicle to do so. Launched by Firefly Aerospace on January 15, it aims to explore the Sea of Crises and carry out scientific operations for 14 Earth days. The lander carries 10 NASA instruments, which will gather data to enhance future lunar and Mars missions. NASA officials noted that the mission supports a growing lunar economy and will provide insights into space weather's effects on Earth. NASA plans to return astronauts to the Moon by September 2026 as part of the Artemis program, which aims to land the first woman and first person of color on the lunar surface.
