NASA finds third interstellar comet entering our solar system
NASA has confirmed the discovery of a new interstellar comet, the third ever detected, offering scientists a rare opportunity to study an object originating outside our solar system. The comet, named 3I/ATLAS, was spotted by the ATLAS survey telescope and is currently passing through our solar system. Astronomers are eager to analyze its composition and trajectory, hoping to gain insights into the formation of other star systems. This discovery follows the detection of two previous interstellar objects, 'Oumuamua and Comet Borisov. The upcoming Vera C. Rubin Observatory is expected to significantly increase the frequency of such discoveries in the coming years.
