NAND flash revenue fell sharply in Q1 2025
The top five NAND flash memory manufacturers saw a nearly 24% decrease in combined revenue during the first quarter of 2025. This decline was primarily due to falling prices and reduced shipments. The drop in revenue, totaling $12.02 billion, resulted from a 15% decrease in average selling prices and a 7% reduction in shipments. This was caused by inventory pressures and decreased demand from end-users, despite a late-quarter price recovery. Looking ahead, analysts predict a 10% revenue increase for the second quarter, driven by rebounding prices and increased demand as buyer inventories normalize. Samsung led in Q1, but faced a 25% revenue drop.
