Naga sadhus preserve ancient recipe for sacred ash preparation

Naga sadhus prepare sacred ash, known as 'Bhaboot,' using an ancient method. This involves mixing wood ash with sandalwood paste, forming small balls, and baking them in a cow dung fire before grinding and filtering. The ash is then combined with unboiled cow milk and sandalwood paste, repeating the process. It is divided into two types: 'Ganga Bhabooti' for rituals and 'Dev Bhaboot' for smearing on their bodies. Before the Amrit Snans, Naga sadhus engage in prayers and meditation. They apply the ash after bathing and pay respects to their deity before participating in the sacred dip.
