Myst remake adds new area called Age of Rime

Cyan Worlds has released a new update for the modern remake of the classic game Myst. This update adds a new area called the Age of Rime. Players can explore this snowy, mountainous seascape after completing the main story of the game. The Age of Rime is not entirely new. It first appeared in a 2000 version of Myst called realMyst, which transformed the original game's visuals. While this update introduces new narrative elements and beautiful scenery, Rime serves as a bonus area that provides additional context to the Myst storyline. Cyan has enhanced the Rime area with detailed visuals, including stunning ice structures and expansive views. The update responds to community requests for new content, with the developers stating, "You’ve been asking, and we’ve been listening." In addition to Rime, the update also includes improvements to the game, such as updated DLSS support, a zoom function, and visual enhancements to the Myst island library. The Myst remake was released in 2021, and even with its updates, it remains true to the original's design.
