The city of Muskegon has purchased a historic mansion, the Nelson House, built in 1869, which was previously facing demolition. The house was moved to a new location in July and listed for sale in September. City staff will recommend a buyer for the mansion at the city commission meeting on December 10. Bid proposals for the property were due on November 21. The Nelson House has a significant history, having served various purposes since its construction, including as a rectory for a local church.
