Munich Oktoberfest beer prices rise again this year

The price of beer at Munich's Oktoberfest will increase again this year, costing between 14.50 and 15.80 euros per liter. This represents an average increase of 3.52% compared to the previous year. The price hike for a "Maß" of beer is due to inflation, according to organizers. Non-alcoholic beverages will also see price increases. The city, as the Oktoberfest organizer, reviews the prices charged by the beer tent operators. Oktoberfest, the world's largest folk festival, will begin on September 20th and run through October 5th. Beer prices have roughly doubled since 2004, when a "Maß" cost between 6.70 and 7.10 euros.
