At an event ahead of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), he impressed the crowd by catching a water bottle with one hand. Dhoni joked about his abilities, saying, "Catching is still good." Dhoni made his return to the cricket field on March 23 during a match between the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Hayden praised Dhoni's quick reflexes, saying he still has an impressive presence on the field. Dhoni retired from international cricket five years ago but continues to play for the Chennai Super Kings, leading them to five IPL titles. His performance in the match was crucial as Chennai won by chasing down a target of 156 runs with four wickets remaining. Noor Ahmad, who bowled the delivery leading to the stumping, expressed his gratitude, saying having Dhoni behind the stumps is a great support.
