Mounjaro launches in Brazil next month with set prices

Mounjaro, a diabetes medication, will launch in Brazil in the second half of May. The drug, developed by Eli Lilly, will be available with prices starting from R$1400. The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approved Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes treatment. The injectable medication will be available in 2.5mg and 5mg doses. It works by targeting two hormones to improve insulin release and potentially aid in weight loss. Mounjaro is administered weekly via an auto-injector pen. The company is awaiting approval for its use in chronic weight management. The drug has shown effectiveness in clinical trials involving thousands of patients worldwide.
