Mother arrested for allegedly stabbing son in California
A mother has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her 11-year-old son to death in a Santa Ana motel after a trip to Disneyland. Police say Saritha Ramaraju, 48, called 911 on herself on March 19, leading officers to the scene where her son was found dead. Body camera footage shows Ramaraju approaching officers calmly while holding her phone. When police entered their motel room, they discovered her son with stab wounds and Disneyland souvenirs around him. A kitchen knife purchased earlier was reportedly found at the scene. Ramaraju allegedly admitted to taking pills to end her life after harming her son. The motive remains unclear. Following her hospitalization, she was charged with murder, weapon enhancement, child endangerment, and torture. She is currently held at Orange County Jail.
