Laneidra Whitehead and her son, Jamir Williams, have been arrested on suspicion of murder in Aurora, Colorado. They are accused in the shooting death of Whitehead's husband, Roosevelt Williams, who was 37 years old. The police say Laneidra Whitehead, 45, had previously threatened to shoot Roosevelt if he ever harmed her again. Both she and her son face charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy, and a crime of violence. They are currently being held on $1 million cash bonds and are set to appear in court on Friday. Roosevelt Williams was shot on Friday night at an apartment complex on East Adriatic Drive. He died the next morning at the hospital. Prior to the shooting, witnesses reported a domestic dispute between Whitehead and her husband. Later that night, Jamir Williams reportedly confronted Roosevelt and shot him. A relative of Roosevelt found him bleeding in his apartment after hearing the commotion. This person called 911 around 10:15 PM. They described the fight as unusually intense, with multiple people, including Laneidra, seen leaving the apartment shortly after the shot was fired. Security footage reportedly shows Laneidra handing a gun to one of her sons before they all entered the apartment. However, no video captured anyone leaving afterwards. Investigators obtained Facebook messages from Laneidra in which she claimed Roosevelt was threatening her before the shooting. Family members had encouraged her to leave the relationship due to its unhealthy nature, but she chose to stay.
