Modi and Macron inaugurate India's new consulate in Marseille

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron opened India's new consulate in Marseille on February 12, 2025. The ceremony featured a button press and was attended by a crowd waving Indian and French flags. Before the consulate inauguration, Modi and Macron visited Mazargues Cemetery to honor Indian soldiers from the Great War. They also engaged with members of the Indian community in France. The new consulate aims to strengthen diplomatic ties between India and France and support the Indian diaspora in the country.
