MLA requests orange farmers' relief in Katol-Narkhed
Katol MLA Charansingh Thakur has requested the government to provide Rs50,000 per hectare in relief to orange farmers in the Katol-Narkhed region due to crop damage from unseasonal May rains. The MLA stated that extreme weather caused widespread crop destruction, leading to significant financial distress for farmers who rely on orange cultivation as their primary income source, often burdened by loans. He emphasized the urgent need for compensation during the current monsoon session. Thakur also advocated for allowing high-yield cotton seeds, addressing wild animal attacks, and improving irrigation, highlighting the interconnectedness of these issues for the region's agricultural recovery and long-term stability.
