Mizoram police to enforce vehicle fitness checks in Aizawl starting December 9

Mizoram Police will start a strict enforcement campaign on December 9 against vehicles operating without fitness certificates in Aizawl. This initiative aims to enhance road safety during the holiday season. Since late November, long lines have formed at the four Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) booths in the city, disrupting traffic. The busiest booth is located near the Secretariat. Police are actively checking vehicles for valid licenses, insurance, and PUCCs. Drivers without these documents face immediate fines. Public demand is growing for additional PUCC booths to alleviate congestion and wait times.
