Microsoft is testing a new battery indicator for Windows 11 laptops in Build 26120.2510, currently available to Insiders on the Dev Channel. The updated design is larger and more colorful than the existing black-and-white icon. The new indicator will show green when charging and yellow in Power Saving Mode. Currently, it appears only in the taskbar, while the old design remains on the lock screen. The new design may be added to the lock screen after further testing. There is no timeline for when the new battery indicator will be available to all Windows 11 users. This build also includes additional features for Copilot+ PCs using AMD and Intel hardware.
