Meta plans at least $20 billion bond sale for AI build-out
Meta is considering raising at least $20 billion through a potential cross-border bond offering, Bloomberg News reported Monday, to fund its AI infrastructure expansion. The debt sale, which may grow based on investor demand, would include dollar bonds with maturities of 5 to 30 years and euro bonds ranging from about 4 to over 38 years. No final decision has been made, and Meta, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup declined to comment. This follows Meta's announcement last week of plans for its largest-ever equity offerings totaling around $97.5 billion. The company previously raised $30 billion in bonds last year and $25 billion in April, while reporting a $2.12 billion cash burn in the third quarter, prompting S&P to revise its outlook to "negative."
