Mehul Choksi may soon be extradited to India

Mehul Choksi, a wanted businessman, is living in Belgium with his wife, Preeti Choksi. They currently reside in Antwerp. Choksi is wanted in India for a major bank fraud case that allegedly involved stealing Rs 13,500 crore from the Punjab National Bank. Reports indicate that Choksi and his wife have obtained residency in Belgium. They reportedly used forged documents to secure this residency, misrepresenting their nationality during the application process. Indian authorities have been attempting to extradite Choksi back to India. Choksi, along with his nephew Nirav Modi, faces accusations of financial crimes. While Modi is currently in a London jail contesting his extradition, Choksi was previously believed to be living in Antigua before arriving in Belgium. According to a report, India has requested Belgium to start the extradition process for Choksi. There are also rumors that Choksi plans to move to Switzerland for medical treatment, although this has not been confirmed officially.
