Medical courses led Brazil's 2023 Enade performance

Medical courses across Brazil achieved the highest performance in the 2023 National Student Performance Exam (Enade), with a national average of 65 points. This indicates a strong showing for medical education nationwide. The University of Brasília (UnB) in the Federal District stood out, with all evaluated courses receiving high scores, including a maximum score for its medical program. Over 31,000 medical students participated in the exam, and 77% of students who began their medical degrees in 2017 completed them by 2023. The Enade 2023 assessed 28 areas, including health, engineering, and architecture. Distance learning programs showed concerning results, with high dropout rates and lower Enade scores compared to in-person programs.
