Mayank Yadav's return delayed by toe injury
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are facing challenges with their bowling lineup as fast bowler Mayank Yadav has suffered a new injury. The 24-year-old pacer was expected to return to play by mid-April after recovering from a previous back injury. However, he injured his toe at home, which has delayed his comeback. Mayank Yadav made his international debut for India last year but has been working hard on his recovery since October. He was seen as a key player for LSG in the IPL 2025 season. Coach Justin Langer shared that the toe injury has pushed back Mayank's rehabilitation by one to two weeks. He remains hopeful that Mayank will be ready to play later in the tournament. LSG is currently dealing with multiple injuries, including those of Avesh Khan and Akash Deep, who will miss the start of the season. Mohsin Khan has also been ruled out due to a calf injury. To fill this gap, LSG has signed former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Shardul Thakur as a replacement. In their upcoming match, LSG will face the Delhi Capitals. Historically, LSG leads in their head-to-head record against DC, having won three out of five matches since joining the IPL in 2022. Fans are eager to see how the team adjusts in light of these injury setbacks.
