Mattel regains DC toy licensing from McFarlane

Mattel has secured a multi-year licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery to produce DC-themed toys, marking a return to the brand after losing the license to McFarlane Toys six years ago. The new deal will take effect in mid-2026. Until then, McFarlane will continue to produce its existing DC lines, including DC Multiverse figures. After the transition, it is expected that McFarlane will cease production of DC figures, including the popular Super Powers line. Mattel plans to leverage its experience in toy design and brand management to create new DC products. The collaboration aims to celebrate DC's legacy and future storytelling across various media.
