Matt Eberflus considered for Bengals defensive coordinator role

Matt Eberflus, former head coach of the Chicago Bears, is a candidate for the Cincinnati Bengals' defensive coordinator position. He was fired by the Bears in November after a poor season, finishing with a record of 14-32 over three years. Eberflus' tenure with the Bears saw improvements in scoring defense, moving from 32nd in 2022 to 13th in 2024. The Bengals recently dismissed their defensive coordinator, Lou Anarumo, after a disappointing season ranked 25th in scoring defense. Eberflus has not been linked to any other coaching positions since his departure from the Bears. He previously served as the Colts' defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2021.
