Matiu Taingahue cycles 1100km for Far North Hospice

A coach and osteopath named Matiu Taingahue is cycling 1100 kilometers across New Zealand. His journey is called "Inspiring Ride Across Aotearoa." The goal is to raise money for Far North Hospice. Taingahue began his ride on Tuesday. He has a strong connection to the Far North community. He is also a cancer survivor, having been diagnosed with Stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma in December 2023. Despite his diagnosis, Taingahue remains determined. He views this challenge as a way to celebrate life and promote well-being. "What initially felt like the darkest chapter in my life turned out to be one of my greatest blessings," he said.
