Mastermind of Chinhat bank heist posed as contractor to plan robbery

Vipin Kumar, the mastermind behind the Chinhat bank heist, posed as a contractor to gather information about the bank's layout and security. He visited the bank multiple times, initially under the guise of securing a whitewashing contract. Kumar also set up a food kiosk nearby to observe the bank's security and public movement. He interacted with locals to collect information without raising suspicion before executing the heist on December 21, stealing valuables from 42 lockers. Police are interrogating Kumar and four accomplices to gather more details about the planning and execution of the heist. While 6 kilograms of gold have been recovered, Kumar revealed that nearly 14 kilograms were stolen.
